With the advancement of AI technology, we are now living in a sci-fi world that entangles humans with robots more than what we’ve witnessed in the past. And now this agile anthropomorphic robot by Google’s Boston Dynamics takes us in to the world of ‘Terminator’ and ‘BladeRunner’.

Atlas can walk bi-pedally leaving the upper limbs free to lift, carry, and manipulate the environment. This high-mobility humanoid robot has been designed to carry out activities in outdoor location and even rough terrain.

In a description of the video posted on YouTube, Boston Dynamics wrote, “It is specialized for mobile manipulation. It is electrically powered and hydraulically actuated. It uses sensors in its body and legs to balance and LIDAR and stereo sensors in its head to avoid obstacles, assess the terrain, help with navigation and manipulate objects.”

The video also showcases that even when this humanoid robot is pushed violently using a hockey stick, Atlas maintains its balance and can also lift itself up after falling down. Isn’t that incredible? Let us know what you think of future robots in the comment section below.
